ceiling speakers!?
my new house has 5 pre-wired outlets on the ceiling that the previous had installed as a option . still covered with switch plates . any suggestion for reasonable quality speakers? thank you all!
That's so great that it's already wired. That makes it easy to achieve great sound without too much trouble.
I have installed two pair of Boston in-ceiling speakers in my two bedrooms upstairs and love them. They have sounded terrific for three years now.

You might also try Klipsch and Polk. www.crutchfield.com is a great place to look and do research and compare prices, though you can often get a better price than what they sell them for. However, their customer service is hard to beat.
The speakers will come with a template for the hole to be cut. Make sure you know where your ceiling joists are before you trace, though. You don't want to start cutting and run into a joist and mess up your ceiling.
All you need is a drywall saw and screwdriver to install the speakers - it's quite simple. Good luck!
